Small Actions, Big Impact: Helping Brewer Families in Need

When we visited the Brewer Area Food Pantry this week to donate paper bags (they use nearly 200 every week!), we were met with a sobering sight: empty shelves.

The pantry has recently lost 40% of its funding, all while the demand for food assistance in our community continues to grow. More of our neighbors than ever before are turning to the pantry for support, and now more than ever, they need our help.

During our visit, we had a special and heartwarming moment. The pantry surprised Dorian (D-Max) by honoring him with a leaf on their donor tree, recognizing his birthday cake fundraiser from last fall. Dorian donated 200 cake mixes, frostings, and candles to the pantry to help local families celebrate birthdays — something many might not otherwise be able to do. Watching him add his name to the tree alongside other generous donors was a proud mom moment I’ll never forget.

Mother Teresa once said, "If you can't feed a hundred people, then feed just one."

Her words are a powerful reminder that small acts of kindness add up to real change.
