"It always seems impossible until it’s done." — Nelson Mandela

I was going through my drafts and found this blog, a snapshot of a stage in life that now feels like a lifetime ago. Dorian is 12 now and jumps at every opportunity to stay home alone—what a difference a few years make! If you have a young child, I hope this blog helps you navigate this phase. I remember it well, and I’m grateful to be on the other side of it. As I reflect, I feel incredibly proud—not just for surviving single parenthood, but for thriving, building a prosperous life for both of us.

It takes years to bring your dreams to reality. Patience is not a virtue that comes naturally to me. It is a CONSTANT battle to practice patience. So, I put one foot in front of the other and just keep working with my dream life constantly inspiring me. I promise you, one day you’ll look back and be proud.

Dorian's school is cancel and I have no where to put him and have to get some work done! It's nice when you're the owner and can make these things happen for you, on occasion.

Here's my top 5 tips if you have to bring your kids to work for the day:

1. Bring lots of snacks

Back your whole pantry! and just Boredom can lead to munching nonstop.

2. A blanket and a tablet

This isn't the time to worry about how much technology your child is using. Find a cozy place for him to curl up and enjoy some shows.

3.Practice deep breathing

Come to peace with the fact that you aren't going to have a super productive day. Have an exit plan in place. Dorian has a max of 4 hours at work before it starts to become more distracting than benefical.

4. Bring in treats

Your staff and customers will appreciate some special goodies and will tolerate a lot more noise than usual.

5. Keep a secret stash of toys

I have a bucket of cars and trucks that are in hiding and only come out when all other things have failed. He doesn't see them often so they are able to keep him entertained for at least 20 minutes. At this point, I am sprinting to get it all done because let's face it-it will be time to call it.
